Overlook is a small private show kennel. Our kennel name is registered with the American Kennel Club.
We seldom have puppies available since we only have a litter to produce our next show dogs. We place some
of our show quality puppies with known exhibitors. We never breed with the objective of having pet puppies
to sell. When available, pet puppies are placed in carefully selected homes with spay/neuter contracts. We
are active members of the Havanese Club of America. We also are members of the Japanese Chin Club of
America and work with JCCARE (Japanese Chin rescue).
We were extremely fortunate to be able to purchase our first Havanese from Lynn Nieto in
1996, and we didn't stop there. That first dog became Ch. Los Perritos Overlook Salsa (photo above). She
was followed by Ch. Los Perritos Luigi in 1998, Ch. Los Perritos Overlook Shiloh in 1999 and
Ch. Los Perritos Paws of Fire in early 2000. Ch. Amchardee's Nutmeg of LP joined us later in
the year 2000. All of our dogs are owner-handled to their championships, with the exception of Nutmeg, who
came to us as a finished Champion.
With limited breeding, we have produced 19 champion Havanese, with more youngsters waiting to
be shown. Our Champion stud dogs are available only to excellent quality, health-tested bitches.
We will not breed to pet bitches. Our dogs have annual CERF eye examinations until the age of 7
years old, and have their patellas certified by OFA as well as OFA Cardiac examinations and
BAER hearing tests.
Our Dogs
Great Dane puppies, Danny and
Speckles at 12 weeks in
September 2005.
Ch. Dehra Ladybird of Overlook (Julia),
our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Though she permitted Natalie to feed,
train, show and groom her, she was a
real Daddy's Girl, having eyes only for
Russ since the day we got her at 12
weeks of age.
Cleo was a Mantle Great Dane, known
as "Large and In Charge". She was the
epitome of the "Gentle Giant". She never
met anyone she didn't like.
